3 Day Weekends

I woke up this morning and realized this weekend is actually a 3-day weekend.  Being self employed, you would think that I wouldn't pay as much attention to those 3-day weekends but I do.  At least I do now.

When I started my first business back in 2003, I never paid attention to 3 day weekends.  I always worked through them.  Heck! I worked through the weekends anyway, so it really didn't matter if there was an attached weekday that was suppose to be a day off.  I never took 'em!  A few years later, I fully embrace my weekends and that includes my 3-day weekends.  I make sure work is done during the week, so I can do my thing during the weekend.  And today is the last of a long line of 3-day weekends until May.  Bummer.

So what are your plans for the 3-day weekend?  I know we're going to do a little baking - cupcakes and scones.  We're also going to do a day trip.  I'm not sure where yet, but it will be someplace fun and photographable.  I just hope the weather cooperates, but even if it doesn't and it is pouring down rain - I'm sure we'll have just as much fun.

I know it is only Thursday, but I'm ready for my 3-day weekend to start today!

  1. I actually have a 4 day weekend every week. I'm off Friday thru Monday. Of course that will all change come Fall semester.

I really enjoy having Fridays off. It allows me to get all the errands done and have the whole weekend off to spend with my family!

  2. That is just the right approach - I think too many people work through all the holidays and never get time to have fun. Baking and day trips sound like the perfect weekend pace.
