Picnic by the Sea...

I decided to take Dawn and Mum out for a picnic by the sea.  Well, by the bay.  Padilla Bay to be more precise.  The weather was perfect for a picnic, and what better way to celebrate the spring weather than to have the first picnic of the season.

The place was perfectly quiet.  Plenty of tables to choose from and each had perfect views of the water.

And we weren't alone.  There were plenty of seagulls to keep us company and to eat our left-over scraps of lettuce.

The breeze wasn't too strong - just gentle enough to keep us on our toes so our picnic wares didn't fly away for the seagulls to capture.

And there was even a kite flying high to entertain us, while we relaxed and ate our food.

And, of course, we had fabulous cupcakes for dessert.  Raspberry truffle, chocoholic, cinnamon roll, vanilla crumb cake, and very vanilla cupcakes... Fabulous!

And Dawn had the vanilla crumb cake cupcake.  Those cupcakes didn't last long, and they were completely worth the calories.  What a fabulous day!

Gotta love those springtime picnics.
