Random Acts of Kindness
Yesterday I went to a meeting I had scheduled with my co-presenter. Since we live about 60 miles apart, in two different cities, we meet at a coffee shop at the half-way mark between our houses. As I walked into the shop, I saw she had already secured us a table in the overly-crowded shop and once I plopped down on my chair and dropped my heavy bag onto the floor, she handed me a box.
The box contained these Fred Flintstone and Dino figurines.
As it turns out, the figurines were actually salt and pepper shakers. Dino being the pepper, while Fred was the salt. They have little magnets which keep the two pieces connected.
When I asked her why she did it, she said "just cause." She also mentioned that she saw them in the store and mmediately thought of my little family.
It's always fabulous when people do little random acts of kindness; when there are no ulterior motives or specific reasons such as birthdays or holidays. They do it just because they want to do it, and it always brings a smile on the other people's face - as these salt and pepper shakers brought a smile to my face (and Mum and Dawn's faces). That's the bliss of random acts of kindness.
So if you have an opportunity today, go out and do something nice for someone. Do it for not particular reason. Do it just 'cause. It will bring warm fuzzies all around.
