One of the many great things about where we live is there is plenty of wind. And plenty of water. And when the two are combined, it is even more fantastic.
So Dawn and I decided to take a walk on the beach - with our cameras.
Even better, we were the only ones on the beach. Both she and I prefer that because it means no one gets in the way of our shots.
But it doesn't mean we weren't the only ones on the beach. There were plenty of seagulls and crows who left the remains of their breakfast on the beach.
And lots of fantastic shells for us to photograph.
Then there was the seaweed. I'm talking a lot of seaweed - covering just about everything.
And more crab parts and shells.
I love this... All the little barnacles. Fabulous.
And more seaweed.
Even better? The drift wood littering the beach provided the perfect seats for Dawn and I to just sit, listen to the waves roll onto the beach, and watch the the world drift by.
But I admit, I couldn't sit for long. I wanted to climb on this rock but Dawn wouldn't let me. Such a party pooper.
Dawn's getting a lot better with her photographs - giving me plenty of competition.
But, in the end, it isn't about the photographs. It's more about the memories.
I just love the smell of the beach - particularly a beach like that with all the seaweed. You pretty much brought that smell to me with these photos.
