3 Day Weekends...
I don't know what it is about 3-day weekends, but they make me feel absolutely exhausted when they're over. Now don't get me wrong... I love 3-day weekends. It always seems like Saturday is spent playing catch-up, while Sunday you collapse from exhaustion and are unable to finish out what you needed to do over the weekend. The 3-day weekend allows a person more time to play catch up, while giving plenty of time for rest. I say this, but of course this isn't how it usually ends up.
It usually ends up I doing very little catching up on the 3-day weekends. I have all sorts of excuses, but the bottom line is I turn into a slug.
This 3-day weekend was no exception to the rule. Saturday arrived, and I thought “Oh, I have 2 more days to get all this catch up done!” So, I did nothing. I read a little, ate a lot, and didn’t even change out of my pajamas. Sunday pulled up, and I started doing a little work, but that faint call of “Monday off!” was calling to me, so when I say “I did a little work,” I actually mean “I did very little work.”
Now it is Monday, and I feel exhausted. I have a “To Do” list that is twice the size as it should be, but all I want to do is spend another day living in my pajamas, reading books, and snacking on backed goods and comfort food. The world outside is drenched in rain, while fog creeps and engulfs every corner, so I have the perfect excuse to settle in, grab that book, and go for it. That list can wait until Tuesday.
Happy Lazy Day, Folks! See you on Tuesday!
