For me, the best kind of lighting in photography is natural light. Nothing beats how the sun lights up a subject, but it does require some work in figuring out how to maximize the light without casting accidental shadows. When I am using natural light (which is the majority of the time), I always find myself using a lot of trial and error. But nothing beats that crisp, white light.
Look at how the sun lights up this iris. I just want to say "ahhhhhh."
